New Leaf

New Leaf brings together partners from across Warrington and Cheshire to change lives, create opportunities and make a positive contribution to local communities and the regional economy.

New Leaf programme will be looking to support over 2,800 people from across Cheshire, enabling them to move closer to employment over three year until September 2019. The project has been allocated £10.6 million of funding through the Building Better Opportunities programme and is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund, which provides investment in local projects that increase economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regeneration.

Over the next three years, the New Leaf project aims to support a minimum of 2,800 residents across Cheshire closer or into employment. It is designed to boost confidence and unlock potential by providing training, developing skills and giving opportunities to improve personal aspirations.

New Leaf brings together a diverse range of 30 partners from across Warrington and Cheshire, including Local Authorities, learning providers, charities, social landlords, disability support networks to change lives, create opportunities and make a positive contribution to the local communities and the regional economy

How it works

New Leaf will help those in greatest need and farthest from work. The project will also benefit local economies through local investment and supporting economic activity. All clients will have their own professional mentor, trained to build positive relationships focused on client’s needs and strengths. Bespoke programmes will support clients to explore and identify personal barriers to enable them to achieve agreed goals, re-engage with mainstream services, and ultimately maintain employment. Leads will be supported by employer engagement staff to create positive and sustainable pathways to work.
