Sponsored Fundraising

This is a unique opportunity to take your place in racing history on the high speed corners of the Silverstone Formula One racetrack, home of the British Grand Prix, whilst also raising funds for a Cheshire based charity, supporting D/deaf people.  Last year’s race was a fantastic day for both runners and their supporters - with over 6,500 runners taking part (including a host of celebrity runners).  We had six runners in the race last year, who raised over £2000 for our projects and services - including three DSN staff and service users.
 

Perhaps you are attempting your first half marathon (plenty of time to prepare!), using this event as a training run for a local Marathon - or even  the London Marathon.  Whichever it is, we need your support.  Please have a look around our website to learn more about the services and projects we deliver and how you can contribute by supporting our work.  By taking part in the Silverstone Half Marathon on our behalf, you will be helping us to work towards an inclusive society for D/deaf people.

The Support We Need

We have purchased four Charity Places in the race and are asking our Charity Place runners to raise a minimum of £500 each to cover our costs and support our valuable services for D/Deaf people.  We will, of course, welcome any additional funding above and beyond the minimum. 
 

If you would like a place, please email our Fundraising Manager Angela Burrows, confirming that you wish to be one of our Charity Place Runners. With only four places in the race,   do let us know as soon as you can.
 

Before The Race:  As a Deafness Support Network Charity Place Runner, we will send you tips on fundraising and a running vest. We will also be on hand to help you with any running or fundraising queries throughout 2012 - 13 just pick up the phone.  In addition we will be promoting our involvement in the local press, on our website, Twitter and Facebook pages, which will help to raise awareness of the opportunity to sponsor you.  
 

During The Race: We will have staff at the race, to cheer you on and watch your progress -  with our mobiles and cameras at the ready, to congratulate you at the finish line.  Also you get one of our DSN t-shirts to do the run in.
