Our Supported Living Services provide accommodation in a friendly and supportive environment for D/deaf and D/deafblind adults who have additional learning difficulties and/or challenging behaviour and complex needs. Our aim is to encourage personal growth and development, in order to facilitate as independent a lifestyle as possible.
We have four group homes of different sizes, all in the Northwich area and local to our Head Office at 144, London Road. Each of our homes offers support and care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We use a total communication approach throughout all our homes. All staff are British Sign Language users, with a high percentage of our staff group being D/deaf themselves. This has enabled us to create an atmosphere of total inclusion and equality, a philosophy which we have found facilitates personal and social development for all our service users.
We focus on ‘Life Skills’ such as money management, personal hygiene, cooking and social skills/interaction. Skills are passed on to service users in a way which is tailored to them as individuals. Each person learns, through one-to-one sessions, group tuition and constant reinforcement with staff guidance and support.
