Life and Deaf is a unique poetry event, featuring a performance of poetry written by deaf children, which explores their identities.
Over the past year we have brought together deaf children from across the UK to work with creative professionals with the aim of exploring and discussing their feelings and experiences, developing their emotional literacy and forming networks and friendships.
As part of this, we crafted a script of interwoven lines of the poetry created by deaf children from across the UK. Children from Greenwich then worked with a professional film maker to create an incredibly powerful short film entitled 'That's not all of me'. This film will be shown for the first time on the 29th March, along with other creative work. An acclaimed Deaf poet, Richard Carter, will also perform some of his visual poetry.
The is a free, ticketed event. A limited number of tickets are available directly from the Southbank Centre so please book a free ticket and come along if you can!
